The craftsman at work.cutaway-01.gif (32400 bytes)

Our craftsmen, by using old fashioned skills and modern materials can transform a once cold and draughty home into one that is warm and comfortable with no change to it's appearance and no loss of character.

Sliding Box Sash Windows.

pully-wheel.gif (7827 bytes)Both sashes are removed and re-aligned to fit the box correctly. Sashes and weights are weighed and weight correction is made where necessary, together with the fitting of new sash cords. A nylon brush pile material is set into both sashes to act as a permanent draught excluder at the head of your window and between the meeting rails. UPVC and neoprene parting beads are fitted which effectively draughtproof your upper sash. New staff beads, incorporating the nylon brush pile material, are fitted thus draughtproofing the lower sash. New catches and sash furniture can be fitted where necessary, to achieve a draughtproof seal when closed and facilitate the smooth operation on both sashes.

Hinged Windows and Doors.

Hinged windows and doors are removed from their frames and re-aligned to fit correctly. All hinges fitch-fastener.gif (10635 bytes)are inspected, lubricated and where necessary, replaced to facilitate smooth operation. A nylon brush pile material is set into all sash-lift.gif (4599 bytes)edges to act as a permanent draught excluder. Finally, catches, handles and sashes are repositioned to achieve a good positive seal when closed.
